Healthcare benefits
Day-to-day benefits
Comprehensive day-to-day benefits via our contracted network providers. Day-to-day benefits refer to medical treatment received out of hospital (or in the casualty ward of a hospital). These benefits generally include services from doctors, specialists, dentists, optometrists, radiologists and pathologists, as well as prescribed medicine.
In-hospital benefits
The Ingwe Option offers unlimited private hospital cover at 100% of the Momentum Medical Scheme Rate to provide you with peace of mind. The hospital benefit provides cover for hospitalisation, if treatment is clinically appropriate and has been pre-authorised by the Scheme.
Study VISA benefit
To comply with study visa requirements, Momentum covers a single view chest x-ray at a radiologist in South Africa as well as the report. Kindly consult an Ingwe Network provider to assist with your medical report for your visa.
Medical emergency transportation
Netcare 911 is Momentum Medical Scheme’s preferred service provider for unlimited medical emergency transport in South Africa.
Casualty/emergency benefits
If you need to visit an emergency room / casualty over a weekend or after hours, you have 1 visit per person or 2 visits per family per year for emergency / casualty and out-of-network doctor visits. You pay the first R100 of the visit and then need to contact us for authorisation within 72 hours after the visit.
Member communications
Momentum Medical Scheme has various communication channels to keep you informed of important Scheme developments. Kindly ensure that you update your personal contact details, especially your email address and mobile number.
